Record Store Day is April 18th, 2026

Here we go again! RSD is upon us.  The phone calls, the boxes, the piles of exclusive titles you can only find in independent record stores, often for only one day!!!

To find out what WE have in our store, please pay attention to our socials - Facebook and Instagram. We will have photos, videos and live videos of our RSD offerings 1-8 days prior. Feel free to ask questions on the threads!

We will also have the two exclusive Audio Technica turntables that haven't been announced yet (but are super cool.)

We do it smart and efficiently at Spoonful Records, so we hope you will make us your first stop! Firstly, all our records are alphabetized and organized. We're ready. At 6am, we will go out to the line and pass out a checklist. ((Make sure to bring a pen!!)) Select all the records that you want to buy, make sure your name is on your sheet, and turn it in. Inside, our awesome staff starts compiling everyone's orders, in the order that everyone stood in line. This is great because you don't have to worry about somebody behind you snatching the thing that you wanted. At 8am, we will start checking people out, so DO NOT LEAVE THE LINE (except maybe to use the restroom, or grab a donut from the Monster Baby Donuts truck.) If everyone stays lined up, it goes super fast!!!

As a courtesy, we will call/text anyone who turns in a sheet and we are sold out of everything, so you are not waiting for nothing and can head to another store. 

Be ready when your name is called. You should put your chair and drinks away in your car before 7:50am. If you have a tote, we might use it, but lately we are using our little cardboard trays that are very handy! When you are inside, if you see a record and want to throw it on your pile, you are welcome to, but otherwise we do not allow browsing, to keep the line a-flowin'. We love it if you pay with cash, but we accept credit cards and Apple Pay. We have switched to Square Register, so if you have cards with no chip or tap, please notify us before we start checking you out.

On your way out, make sure to pick out some swag!! We have YEAT cds, Audio Technica totes, shirts or cork slipmats, RSD totes, Bruno Mars pins, and more!

Thanks to PROMOWEST, there is a great selection of tickets being given away this year!! Avery Anna, Tash Sultana, Spacey Jane, Ratboys, Dexter and the Moonrocks, Aquabats, Passion Pit, Young the Giant, Band of Horses/Dino Jr, Spoon/Beths, American Football, Charley Crockett, Bilmuri, Jesse Welles!! We usually pull winners in the afternoon and CALL winners. So answer your phone, it might be good news! LOL

People always ask us how early to get in line. Well, that depends on you and how bad you need something. If it's something we only have one or two of, you will need to be early! If it's something we have 300 of (Taylor Swift singles), you can show up later! Most people line up around 5am. Some crazy people show up with sleeping bags and chairs around midnight. Some people stroll in after noon and find exactly what they wanted. You do you! (PS: We DO NOT allow people to set down a chair and leave. Unattended chairs will be removed.)

Around 10am, there's a point where the line dwindles, and our system stops being efficient. So we close up for ten minutes, rearrange the store, and open up for browsing.

Please do not bring records for trade on RSD or the week leading up to RSD. Please DO visit as many record stores as you can, support independent record stores, and keep this hobby going. Music feeds the soul, keeps us going, keeps life interesting, and brings us all together. Your support makes Spoonful possible.
